Last year we were living near Loja, in the hills above Granada and saw the three kings parade there, so knew what to expect. The parade marks […]

Christmas Sunset, Costa del Sol, Andalucia, Spain

Christmas Sunsets in the Costa Del Sol

You really can’t beat a good sunset. The Costa del Sol, where we are visiting for the Christmas holidays, has some stunning sunsets. Especially when looking over the mountains, across the Mediterranean sea to Morocco. Maybe it’s the expanse of sky, or the very bright and sunny days, or a combination of both that produce […]

Archidona, Spain

In the very centre of Andalucia you will find the rural town of Archidona.  Set  amongst olive groves of the Sierra de Gracia, with amazing views of the surrounding countryside.  Archidona once had an impenetrable Moorish Castle and was designated a historico-artistic site in 1980 for baroque, urban and architectural heritage.  At the centre of […]

It makes our hearts soar to see our boys so inquisitive and full of wonder, marvelling at nature and the extensive variety of creatures great and small.

Fun in the Swimming Pool, Granada, Andalucia, Spain

Heatwave

Scorchio!!!  The Iberian Peninsula has been experiencing rather a large rise in the mercury levels recently.   August is usually the month for 40º plus weather, but the end of June and beginning of July has been seriously hot.  When it’s boiling hot and dry we try everything we can to keep cool, shutters are […]
