Halloween Party, Cakes and a Super Moon

This week was a momentous occasion, much more important than Halloween itself; it was Chaos’ first school party. A Halloween party at the Alternative International School which Chaos attends. It was all hands on deck. Chaos and his friends at school made tonnes of decorations. Parents were given the onerous task of creating ‘spook’tacular food befitting the occasion. We made some spooky spaghetti which supposedly resembled intestines, blood and eyeballs…yummy!

Chaos borrowed a Spiderman suit for the occasion, and as usual was more than willing to have his face painted and dress-up. Mayhem on the other hand had to be bribed with the promise of cake and party food before he donned his crocodile/dinosaur onsie. In complete contrast he would not be parted with his wizards hat, which he totally loved and had to be within arms reach of it at all times during the party…only a ‘threenager’ can understand!

Whist both boys enjoyed the party games, musical chairs, dancing to superman and thriller and dressing up (eventually), what they really, really loved the most was the Halloween party food. Never before in the whole of their lives have they consumed so much junk. They were given free reign at the buffet, because after all it was a special occasion. But wow. Just wow. Chaos must have eaten his body-weight in cake and crisps with the token tendril of spaghetti thrown in to appease us, hence the wide eyes and chocolate stained mouth! He absolutely loved it!

Chaos managed to leave the party with the majority of the Halloween balloons, which he insisted on carrying home then refused to be parted with them at bed time, luckily he agreed to have them on the floor and not in his bed…only a ‘fourado’ can comprehend!

The fun-filled Halloween party and the hours time change have resulted in early morning wake ups and two very tired boys this week. So tired that they are more than happy to crawl into their beds. They were way too tired to stay up to see the super moon tonight, shame as it was well worth staying up for.

Hi Andrea & Paul, how fun! The idea of spaghetti intestines was a good one, but I’m sure the sugary snacks were far too inviting! Halloween isn’t a big thing here, so no spooky goings happenings to share. Although I never walk down the road at night, even with the dogs, the olive groves are just too spooky any time of the year x

Oh, that looks like such fun. I love you spooky spaghetti! Freya went to a Halloween disco when we were on holiday and loved it – although she wears Halloween costumes all year 🙂

I love the Halloween face surrounded by a layer of chocolate around the mouth, so very like like and real.
