Pendleton, England

Guess where we are…the red rose county, home of cotton mills, hotpots, pie, chips and gravy, oh and don’t forget the Pendle witches and magnificent moors, to name but a few. We are back in Lancashire (of course) for a flying visit to one of most picturesque counties in England, biased? Well maybe a little…
We are actually relieved not to be in boiling hot Spain where it has been 40º plus for way too long but we totally failed to appreciate that England, and Lancashire in particular are so very green for a reason…a plentiful and regular watering! On a very rare rain-free summer day we managed to visit a local beauty spot, for a pub lunch with Grandma. The boys took their fishing net and were desperate to catch something…anything…but after a few near misses the cheese and onion pie and real ale were calling and the adventure was abandoned in favour of the generous portions of home cooked pub grub at the CAMRA award winning Swan with Two Necks in Pendleton.
