New Zealand’s North Island Beaches

New Zealand is so breathtakingly beautiful. Surrounded by the ocean and just 280 miles at its widest point, you are never too far from a beach here. From wild, hidden, blackened and volcanic to surfy, pristine and sophisticated city bays and shores, there are so many spectacular beaches to suit everyone.
Despite the fact that we have only just arrived, we have already made the time to visit some North Island gems. We have been lucky enough to experience Raumati beach on the Kapiti Coast, approximately fifty kms from Wellington, a city which numerous wonderful bays and beaches. Further north we visited Bay View in Hawkes Bay, within walking distance of Napier. Our nearest beach is Mount Manganui beach, which lies at the base of a dormant volcano! and Waihi beach in Tauranga’s aptly named ‘Bay of Plenty’.
Summer is on its way and we can’t wait to adventure to even more beautiful beaches and really get the chance to explore New Zealand’s North Island.

Looking at the top photo as a thumbnail I could have sworn someone was ice fishing, lol. I had to check it out. That is a great driftwood teepee! There’s something really special about the scope and little one in pink in the bottom photo.
Gorgeous photos, I hope you settle quickly in New Zealand.
