Dia Mundial da Criança – World Children’s Day in Penamacor
It was the boy’s turn to take centre stage at this week’s festa as our local town of Penamacor celebrated World Children’s Day (Dia Mundial da Criança) in style. Portugal is really child friendly and it is fair to say that the Portuguese love children and go out of their way to cater for them. So of course children’s day was going to be a big event, even in our tiny town.
First stop was the foam cannon, which in hindsight wasn’t the smartest move as we only had one change of clothes and both boys ended up pretty soaked! Chaos was straight in there, pretty much head first, covered in foam. Mayhem was far more reluctant and luckily for us, only paddled in, just far enough so that he could grab enough foam to throw at us both. There were also a huge array of inflatables, dance-a-thons and a free lunch. Another fantastic Portuguese Festa.
