Sunshine and Showers

The relentless rains have continued here in Central Portugal. It has rained a lot; so much more that torrential downpours have become the new norm. The caravan roof sings to it’s own tune of meditative pitter-patter as bucket fulls of rain descend upon us on an almost daily basis.
Almost, because there are the rare occasional glorious hours when the sun shines through and all is forgotten. The boys run free in the glorious sunshine and the heat of the sun creates an almost mystical fog.
This curious phenomenon has many different names including steam fog, evaporation fog, frost smoke and sea smoke. It was very difficult to capture the beautiful light and steamy fogginess but it was so stunning that we had to try.
