Village Life, Idanha-a Velha, Portugal

Village Life in Idanha-a-Velha is pretty fast paced, well, not really. The former Capital of ancient Egitânia has now become a sleepy village; despite the fact that it is one of the 12 Aldeias Históricas de Portugal, historical villages of Central Portugal, and firmly on the tourist map, it rarely seems to be rush hour here.
Just time to collect wood, take a moment, catch up with with your neighbours. A beautiful village, with a rich history and amazingly relaxed pace of life.

How lovely, I guess it’s like stepping back in time 💕 #mysundayphoto
It looks idyllic. I always think I’d like to live somewhere like this but I think I’d miss the hustle after a while. #MySundayPhoto

Beautiful…. fancy going from capital to sleepy village!
I can’t imagine living in a place like that but it always strikes me as so peaceful and chilled out. I found this in some Scottihsh villages too. Like someone had pressed a reset switch on everyone!
I love these old village life scenes you post. It reminds me of Greece.

This made me smile. To think of the life stories they have shared over the years! 🙂 #sundayphoto
Hi Andrea, what a lovely photo capturing village life there. There are still villages in Greece that are very similar and you can feel the slowness when visiting.
