Fabulous Figs

Yum! Sweet, fruity, soft, jammy Spanish figs are ready, packed with fibre, minerals and vitamins and amazingly delicious to eat. It was great to get Chaos and Mayhem involved to pick plenty of purple and green figs to eat fresh and make into a rich fig chutney. The two fig varieties from our garden produced some real whoppers and the boys were delighted with their delicious haul!

Oh how lovely to be able to pick figs from the tree. They sound delicious 🙂
We do like figs, the chutney tastes good if you can leave it long enough
Oh someone looks really pleased with themselves after that haul!
Picking fresh figs & eating them straight away must taste delicious!

Fresh and free is amazing, the birds seem to love to eat the higher ones

I love fresh figs from the tree, usually we are in the south of France at the end of August and they are just at their best then. We won’t be going this year and I’ll miss the figs. Enjoy yours.
A great taste of summer, Figs are so reliable, there will be some lovely French figs for you next year

Just amazing when you pick the fruit off the tree. last summer we were in Portugal and able to pick oranges from the trees in the morning to make orange juice from. Tastes like nothing I’d ever had before. Keep on harvesting with your kids!

My boys are crazy about fig rolls but we’ve weirdly never had fresh figs, even I must change that one day!

Thanks, glad you like the pics. Penha Garcia, typical Portuguese village, tomorrow
I think it makes the fruit taste even nicer when you have picked it yourself!
True, great to be outside and creating childhood memories for the boys too
